單身歧視 Singlism

非工作時間，如果單位有急事，領導會先找你;安排加班值班的時候，優先考慮你。因為，反正你也一個人，沒什么事兒。這大概就是大家說的“單身歧視”?

Singlism is the stigmatizing of adults who are single. It includes negative stereotyping of singles and discrimination against singles.

單身歧視就是指給單身的成年人貼上某些負面的標簽。這種歧視包括人們慣有的對單身人士的一些負面印象，以及對單身人士的差別待遇。

Singles are stereotyped as miserable, lonely, immature, too picky, afraid of commitment, and so on.

一聽到某人單身，人們下意識地就會認為這個人是可憐的、孤獨的、不成熟、眼光太高、恐懼承諾等。

Besides, they are targets of discrimination. For example, in their zeal to appear "family friendly," companies often overcompensate at the expense of singles, pressuring unmarried employees to travel more frequently, work more weekends and holidays, and so on.

不僅如此，單身人士還得承受來自社會的不公正待遇。例如，公司為了對有家庭的人表示友善，往往會犧牲單身人士的利益，比如說他們會讓單身人士更經常地出差，周末和假期也常讓他們來加班等。
