四六級：一大波節日翻譯襲來

七夕節

自上世紀90年代后期起，七夕節(the Double SeventhFestival )開始被稱為“中國的情人節”。這個節日可以追溯到漢朝，當時對戀人、女孩都是個特殊的日子。這天，女孩會舉行儀式，向織女(Zhinv)乞求智慧、技藝和美滿婚姻，所以七夕節還被稱為“乞巧節(the Begging for SkillsFestival)”。如今，一些傳統習俗已經弱化。人們現在把七夕節當作浪漫的情人節來慶祝，尤其是在年輕人中間。

The Double Seventh Festival has been called Chinese Valentine's Day since the late 1990s. The festival can be traced back to the Han Dynasty. It was then a special day not only for lovers, but also for girls.Girls would hold a ceremony to beg Zhinv for wisdom, skills and a satisfying marriage. So it is also called “the Begging for Skills Festival”.Today some traditional customs have been weakened. Now the festival is celebrated as a romantic valentine's day, particularly among young people.

父親節

父親節是感恩父親的節日。約始于二十世紀初，起源于美國，現已廣泛流傳于世界各地，節日日期因地域而存在差異。最廣泛的日期在每年6月的第三個星期日，世界上有52個國家和地區是在這一天過父親節。節日里有各種的慶祝方式，大部分都與贈送禮物、家族聚餐或活動有關。

Father's Day is a festival of thanking our fathers. About started in the early 20th century, originated in the United States, it has been widely circulated around the world, but its date is different because of the differences of the regions. The date of the most popular is on the third Sunday of June each year, and there are 52 countries and regions in the world celebrating the father's day on this day. They have various ways of celebration, most of which is related to gifts and family dinner or other activities.

清明節

清明節：清明節的習俗是豐富有趣的，除了講究禁火、掃墓，還有踏青、蕩秋千、蹴鞠、打馬球、插柳等一系列風俗體育活動。相傳這是因為清明節要寒食禁火，為了防止寒食冷藏傷身，所以大家來參加一些體育活動，以鍛煉身體。因此，這個節日既有祭掃新墳生別死離得悲酸淚，又有踏青游玩的歡笑聲，是一個富有特色的節日。

Ching Ming Festival (the Tomb-sweeping Festival), the custom is full of interesting. 端午節

端午節，又叫龍舟節，是為了紀念愛國詩人屈原。屈原是一位忠誠和受人敬仰的大臣（minister）,他給國家帶來了和平和繁榮。但最后因為受到誹謗（vilify）而最終投河自盡。人們撐船到他自盡的地方，拋下粽子，希望魚兒吃粽子，不要吃屈原的身軀。幾千年來，端午節的特色在于吃粽子（glutinous dumplings）和賽龍舟，尤其是在一些河湖密布的南方省份。

The Duan Wu Festival, also called the Dragon Boat Festival, is to commemorate the patriotic poet Qu Yuan. Qu Yuan was a loyal and highly esteemed minister, who brought peace and prosperity to the state but ended up drowning himself in a river as a result of being vilified.People got to the spot by boat and cast glutinous dumplings into the water,hoping that the fishes ate the dumplings instead of Qu Yuan’s body. For thousands of years, the festival has been marked by glutinous dumplings and dragon boat races, especially in the southern provinces where there are many rivers and lakes.
