社會學(xué)碩士，經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)博士。華中科技大學(xué)社會學(xué)系教授、博導(dǎo)。社會學(xué)院副院長。香港中文大學(xué)社會學(xué)系訪問人員（2003年）、美國加利福尼亞大學(xué)（伯克利）的訪問學(xué)者（2008.9-2009.9年）。訪問曼徹斯特大學(xué)（2012年）。
