ZHANG Renyun is an associate professor and academic adviser for MA program in the School of Humanities at BUPT. She has been teaching courses of English language and culture at both undergraduate and graduate levels since 1990. She published more than 10 papers, translated one book and edited five textbooks. She won several awards in the Teaching Demonstration Competition and two prizes for “Teaching Achievements” at provincial level as a key participant. She also participated in several Teaching Reform Projects at BUPT. As a researcher, her expertise lies in the study of pragmatics, and her research has been supported by China Scholarship Council, Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press, and other companies. She earned her BA in English from Hunan University and her MA in English at Renmin University of China. She was a visiting scholar in University of Texas at Austin and also studied at University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. As a MA program adviser, she is devoted to ensuring her students with a firm grasp of pragmatics, preparing them for future success in both careers and lives.
