Kang-Liang Peng is a bass singer, Born in Canton,China. Peng graduated from the Beijing Central Conservatory of Music and Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.
In 1996 he had his operatic debut as Zaccaria in Nabucco with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Since he performed at the New National Theatre as Sarastro in Die Zauberflote in 1998, hi has sung Sparafucile in Rigoletto, Ferrando in Il trovatore, Grande Inquisitor in Don Carlo, Don InigoGomez in L’Heure Espagnole, Il re and Ramfis in Don Giovanni, among many other roles.
Following Mr. Peng’s debut at the Fujiwara Opera of Japan as Colline in La boheme in 1998,
He performed Alidoro in La Cenerentola and appeared as Alvise in La Gioconda. Other roles to his credit are Capellio in I Capuleti ed i Montecchi, Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Don Basilio in Il Barbiere di Sivlglia, Lord Sidney in Il Viaggio a Reims, Le Gouverneur in Le Comte Ory, Bonzo in Madama Butterfly underthe batonf Seiji Ozawa, in Beijing, in 2002, and Zuniga in Carmen under Myung-Whun Chung’s baton in 2006. During the 2007-2008 season, Mr. Peng’s debut at the Los Angeles Opera as Commendatore in Don Giovanni.
Mr. Peng is also an active concert and recital , as a soloist he has performed Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Handel’s Messiah, Britten’s War Requiem and both Verdi’s and Mozart’s Requiem.
He was held in Greece the 37th Maria callas Grand Prix 2011 when any of the judges. Mr. peng in 43 th International Jeunesses Musicales Competition Belgrade 2013 became president of the judges.
He is Professor of Vocal and Opera Department at Central Conservatory of Music of China And He is member of the Fujiwara Opera of Japan.
