英語中存在一種特有的動態名詞，而漢語中不承認有動態名詞這么一說，如“咬”、“死”、”報告”、“增長”等在漢語中均為動詞。在動態名詞的語法特征中動態名詞可以直接作為道地的名詞來使用。動態名詞在長難句中屢見不鮮，下面都教授就帶各位考生來學習一下。

一、動態名詞的定義和相互轉換

動態名詞的定義：由動詞演變而來的名詞，或帶有動詞詞性的名詞。多用名詞而少用動詞是英語中的一大特色，由于動詞的減少而造成英語中的句子較長。

【例1】The teacher deeply appreciates the students’s work. 老師十分欣賞學生的學習。

【解析】該句子可以改寫成The teacher has a deep appreciation of the student’s work.

對待動態名詞的翻譯，遵循中文習慣將名詞改譯為動詞。

四、特殊句子處理

1.動態名詞出現在have , give , make , take , keep , pay , put , lay , show , find 等詞語之后時，通常不再翻譯前面這些只具備語法功能而不具備表意功能的詞。

【翻譯】他答應親自關注這件事情。

2.動態名詞的屬性

【例5】Kevin’s singing of Andy Lau’s songs is exceptionally good.

【翻譯】凱文唱劉德華的歌唱得非常好。
