Xiao Qunzhong, who was born in a Hanzu family of Bing County, Shan Xi Province in March, 1960, is a professor of philosophical institution at Renmin University of China, and a tutor of doctor; at the same he presently holds position of vice-chairman in Research Center of Ethics and Moral Construction. He pays attention to these issues about ethics and traditional Chinese ethics. In 2002, his doctoral thesis, The Filial Piety and Chinese Culture was honored as one of the most excellent theses. In 2005 he became a member in “Training Plan of Excellent People of Educational Department in New Century”,and was awarded "the top ten teaching model" title winner of Renmin University of China in 2009.
As a prolific scholar, he has devoted more than 150 academic achievements to papers and magazines such as Research on Philosophy, Guang Ming Daily, Philosophy and Culture, and has published dozen academic works. His representative work is The Filial Piety and Chinese Culture (People Press, 2001).
