Zhu Laiyi, a native of Hexian, Anhui Province, was born on the 5th , December in 1964. He was graduated from Mathematics Department of Peking University and attained his Doctorate of Science. Soon after beginning his teaching career at Renmin University of China in 1991, Mr. Zhu was prompted to associate professor in 1993 and professor in 1997. Mr. Zhu’s research interests lie in Approximation Theory of Function, in which field he has obtained a lot of honors in the field. His essays, ‘Quasidisks and the Zygmund properties’ (Proceedings of Math. Society, 124:6(1996), 1801-1806) and ‘On the degree of convergence of lemniscates in finite connected domains’(Journal of Approximation Theory, 131(2004), 185-195) won the "Outstanding Paper Award" of Renmin university of China in 2000 and 2006 respectively. Mr. Zhu was also honored with one of the ‘ten teaching models of Renmin University of China’ in 2006.
