2016考研英語：核心詞匯(43)

常規單詞積累一定要集中在2016考研英語復習的前期，否則到了復習后期無論是2016考研英語閱讀的復習還是翻譯的復習，都會遇到困難。同時，單詞記憶不能只記中文釋義，要掌握其常見用法、固定搭配，并且在能力范圍內利用詞根觸類旁通。2016考研英語對于詞匯的考查主要體現在考生“同義替換”的能力上，也就是考查考生對于語言多樣性的把握，所以考生在背單詞的時候一定要掌握單詞的同義詞。

variable

a.易變的，可變的;變量的 n.變量

【例】Charcoal here implies a component with variable properties, not a specific chemical.木炭是一種具有可變性質而不是特定性質的化學藥品。

【構詞】vari(改變)+-able→能改變的→可變的

【同義替換】changeable, mobile, unstable, liquid

【真題】Building on the basic truth about interpersonal influence, the researchers studied the dynamics of social influence by conducting thousands of computer simulations of populations, manipulating a number of variables relating to people’s ability to influence others an their tendency to be influenced.

a.宗教儀式的，典禮的 n.(宗教)儀式，典禮

【例】It tends to assume the form of a pagan religious ceremony, adapting itself to forms and the ritual of the local church.它則趨向采取一種異教徒的宗教禮儀形式，并且使其適應于地方教堂的各種禮節和儀式。

【同義替換】ceremony, tradition, convention

【真題】They also focused on important rituals that appeared to preserve a people’s social structure, such as initiation ceremonies that formally signify children’s entrance into adulthood.

他們也關注一些看似保持以人為本的社會結構的重要儀式，比如說象征兒童正式進入成人期的啟蒙儀式。

【例】You are not entitled to unemployment benefit if you have never worked.從未參加過工作，就沒有資格領取失業救濟金。

【構詞】en-+title(題目，標題)→提名

【同義替換】empower, grant, authorize, confer

【派生】entitled a.有資格的 entitlement n.權利
