單詞的背誦一定要貫穿2016考研英語復習的整個周期，否則無論是2016考研英語閱讀的復習還是翻譯的復習，都會遇到困難。同時，單詞記憶不能只記中文釋義，要掌握其常見用法、固定搭配，并且在能力范圍內利用詞根觸類旁通。考研英語對于詞匯的考查主要體現在考生“同義替換”的能力上，也就是考查考生對于語言多樣性的把握，所以考生在背單詞的時候一定要掌握單詞的同義詞。

venture

v.冒險，拼;大膽表示 n.冒險事業，拼，闖

【例】Those who are willing to venture out in pursuit of their aims are often the ones who succeed.那些愿意冒險追求目標的人常常都是成功者。

【構詞】vent(來)+ure→什么都趕來→冒險→追車一族就是冒險

【同義替換】adventure, risk

【真題】Such food service operators range from snack machines to large institutional catering ventures, but most of these businesses are known in the trade as “horeca” : hotels, restaurants, and cafes.這些食品服務商經營的范圍小到小吃機構，大到大型的餐飲機構，但是這些企業多數屬于“horeca”，即賓館、餐廳和咖啡廳。

transition

n.轉變，變遷，過渡(時期)

【例】They must be the laws of historical development which determine the transition from one period to another.它們必定是決定從一個時期過渡到另一個時期的歷史發展規律。

【構詞】trans-(超過，轉變)+it(=go 行走)+-ion(名詞后綴)→過渡，轉變

【派生】transit v.搬運，運輸 transitional a.過渡的 transitionally ad.過渡地 transitory a.短暫的

【真題】Transitions should connect one paragraph to the next so that there are no abrupt or confusing shifts.

過渡句應該把一個段落和接下來的段落聯系在一起，這樣文章的過渡就不會顯得唐突或者令人費解。

assemble

v.集合，召集;裝配;收集 vi.集合，聚集

【例】In this new field, doctors have joined forces with engineers and biochemists to assemble living cells into spare parts for the human body.在這一新領域，醫生與工程技術人員和生物化學家齊心協力把活細胞裝配稱人體的備用零件。

【構詞】as-(加強)+semble(類似)→物以類聚→集合

【派生】assembly n.集合;會議;裝配;州議會的眾議院

【真題】As Eugene Ferguson has pointed out, “ A technologist think about objects that cannot be reduced to unambiguous verbal descriptions; they are dealt with in his mind by a visual, nonverbal process…The designer and the inventor…are able to assemble and manipulate in their minds devices that as yet do not exist.”

正如尤金·弗格森曾指出的：“技術人員思考那些不能被簡化成用明確的語言描述的物體;這些物體在他的頭腦中以視覺性的、非語言性的方式被處理加工…設計者和發明者…能把那些尚不存在的機械在頭腦中進行組裝和操作。”
