一個單詞往往有多種意思，而研究生英語考試中，常常考察一些認識單詞的偏僻的意思，即所謂的“熟詞僻義”。這就要求我們在備考的時候，要從多方位學習單詞的用法和考法。

下面小編把常見的有僻義的熟詞給大家總結如下，希望考研的同學們好好利用，多多加以學習。

1.weigh v. 考慮，權衡

At the same time, the American Law Institute — a group of judges, lawyers, and academics whose recommendations carry substantial weight — issued new guidelines for tort law stating that companies need not warn customers of obvious dangers or bombard them with a lengthy list of possible ones. (真題 1999, Text 1, Paragraph 4)

與此同時，美國法學會——該學會由一群法官、律師、學者所組成，他們的建議舉足輕重——簽署了新的民事侵害法綱要，宣布公司不必警示顧客那些顯而易見的危險，或者給顧客列出一份冗長的可能造成的危險的清單。

2. even a. 均勻的;平的

They seemed a priesthood, rather uneven in their merits but uniform in their bearing; they never referred to anything personal. (CET-6, 2003.6, Passage 2, Paragraph 4)

他們看起來像神職人員，盡管道行參差不齊，但舉止非常統一;他們從來不談私事。

3.odd a. 臨時的

5.voice n. 意見，發言權

6.resume v. 重新開始，恢復

如果聽者沒有看他，說話人會以為他對話題不感興趣，因此他會暫停一下，直到眼神交流恢復或者他會結束談話。

7. spell n.一段時間

Despite a spell of initial optimism in the 1960s and 1970s when it appeared that transistor circuits and microprocessors might be able to copy the action of the human brain by the year 2010, researchers lately have begun to extend that forecast by decades if not centuries.
