在做閱讀時，可以先瀏覽題干，觀察選項，如果四個選項的句式結構都是A and/or/but B結構，非常容易找出答案.可以在文章中找出與A and/or/but B相同(或相似)的句式結構。如果四個選項的句式結構都是A and/or/but B，那么文章中的某個地方肯定有那么個短語或詞組，其句式結構也是A and/or/but B，該短語或詞組就是答案的同義替換。下面以真題為例。

例如：(真題閱讀2003年Text 2)第27題，它的四個選項的句式結構是：A and/but B。

27. Misled people tend to think that using an animal in research is ________________________.

[A] cruel but natural(殘忍的、自然的)

[B] inhuman and unacceptable(不人道的、不能接受的)

[解析]：該題沒有明顯的段落號來定位，但是可以根據做題順序，該題定位在第3段，該段內容如下：
