考官如果問最大缺點一般會問：What is your greatest weakness/shortcoming?

在回答這類問題時，同學們不要太過緊張，重點是快速定位到底自己想要向考官表達自己什么缺點。

有的同學非常機智，會這樣告訴考官：我有很多缺點，但是我最大的缺點就是太過追求完美。這樣的回答看似在說自己的缺點，但是實則在夸自己。顯得不太真實。

還有一類同學非常誠實，會告訴考官：我最大的缺點就是比較懶、抗壓能力弱、性格內向等。但是同學們這類缺點考官聽了之后，會覺得這位考生不太適合做自己的學生，因為研究生期間會有很多的科研項目，會寫很多論文，如果抗壓能力弱的話，就不太適合考研。

所以同學們在選擇自己的缺點時，應該選擇一些無關緊要的缺點，不會讓考官覺得面前的這位同學無藥可救，不適合做科研。

比如，我們可以說"不會拒絕別人"或是"當自己工作忙的時候，容易忘記一些事情"等諸如此類。定位好了之后，那應該如何回答考官的問題呢。

首先同學們開門見山，先告訴考官自己的最大缺點，即：position。

然后再舉一個例子說明自己的這個缺點，即：example。之后同學們要注意，因為說的是缺點，所以同學們還應向考官說明自己已經在采取措施改正這類缺點了，這樣考官也會覺得考生是一個有錯能改的人，即要寫：ways to correct。

最后總結上文的陳述就可以了，即最后是：conclusion。
